Children and Youth Resource
Centre accommodates children of several age groups who
suffered consequences of the terrible Asian Tsunami
that left them parentless, homeless and displaced. Even
before the Tsunami most of them are living in extreme
poverty. Their parents were killed. Their houses were
destroyed. Their parents have no money to buy their
foods. Their education is disrupted and they do not
even have basic things in the life. Orphaned children
are the most vulnerable to abuse, violence, trafficking
and exploitation. It was felt that children’s
resource centre is essential to help large number of
poor children who are displaced, homeless and parentless.
Therefore PIN Foundation was created to takes the task
of looking after the future needs of those poor children.
Above
statistics show that age of majority (~60%) of the orphaned
or affected children lie between 5 and 12. These children
are at a crucial stage in their life and if they are
left without a supportive hand, it can have a big impact
on their future. Special programs commissioned by the
Children and Youth Resource Centre aid these children
in developing their skills.
