Children And Youth Development Centre - CYDC (25/03/2005)

Ceremonial opening of CYDC was held on 25th March 2005, participated by distinguished guests . The minister of women empowerment and social welfare, Mrs. Sumedha G. Jayasena was the chief guest at the function. Also present among the guests of honors was the additional secretary to the minister, Mrs. Jayantha Ramani Siriwardana.
A group of social workers from Musaeus College also made use of this opportunity to take part in an interacting session with the children of CYDC, which gave them a new experience.

Prime minister has issued a message appreciating the activities undertaken by PIN Foundation and that he has realized the importance of carrying out such activities and had promised to render full support.. “ Setting up the child and youth development center in Galle will render valuable services to displaced poor children and youth in south of Sri Lanka in this needy hour and wish “ People in Need Foundation” a great success in its humanitarian project .” – Prime minister of Sri Lanka . On the day of ceremonial opening, it was revealed that all necessary play items for CYDC's children would be provided by the minister of women empowerment and social welfare, Mrs. Sumedha G. Jayasena.

UNICEF supports PINF for a worthy course (20/03/2005)
|
|
On request made by PINF, UNICEF has pledged to provide funds in order to develop infrastructure to facilitate CYDC with necessary sanition. Laying down a water line to CYDC will be the first in the agenda and followed by deploying water lines for the whole of Boossa area.

Sri lankan cricket star will be visiting Child and Youth Development Center at Galle in near future. He will be inspecting the services that are provided by Child and Youth Development Centre and would be extending his fullest coorporation to the organization. |
